If Iβm being honest, my sister is the real reason Iβm doing any of this art stuff. Sheβs always been more thoughtful and knowledgeable about all things art. I feel like a poser, by comparison. Iβm working on it, though!
While watching this fantastic (as always) Alec Soth video (below), I both thought of Haley who loves to send and give physical objects while also contemplating how so much of what he says mirrors my own internal dialogue for justifying a career pivot towards photobooks and prints. Iβm spending a ton of my time both printing my own work, leaning, and growing, while also now purchasing the work of others to sell in our Realm bookshop. This image is from my first printed zine β check it out! I promise Iβll stop hyping my blog soon, itβs just exciting to have physical work out in the wild and not yet something Iβm used to.

My first photozine project is now at the printer and due out next week (November 15th at Staple + Stitch, to be precise). It has been a fun (and wildly time consuming for being relatively simple) project and I hope just the beginning of many more printed works. While I have many bigger concepts for more βproperβ photobooks dancing in my head, Iβm easing into this by committing myself to two more smaller-scale personal zines next year. In a sense, Iβm riding with training wheels while I learn more about the processes involved, of which there are more than I previously had considered.
If you want to pre-order the zine and snag a free print as a thank you, you can do so here.

Have you heard? Print is back! Iβve decided to take this here blog, or at least a new incarnation of it, and make it a printed book. You can now pre-order the first edition over on our photobook shop Realm. The process of making this (while not yet finished) has been thoroughly enjoyable and the aim is to put out two of these per year moving forward. Any pre-orders also get a signed print. Itβs a so good you should probably drop everything and go pre-order your copy immediately!
Iβll get into more detail about the book in the coming days or weeks. Iβve got a lot of writing on the back-burner these daysβ¦
